Want to go to univeristy in america! :D?

i currently live in UK and i am fnishing year 12 of 6th form. il b 18 next year and i really want to go to univeristy in america. i also want to try and do it through a sports scholarship if possible but i play rugby, i have dun athletics and basketabll and was pretty good at it but i very much doubt i'm at the standards that they want. I have represented my country in rugby and i would like to try american football maybe as it is very similar with big hits and fast paced and i think i could be pretty good at it. issit very unlikely that i would b able to learn to play american football and get a scholarship for it so late? any pointers that could b given towards anything to do with going to univeristy in america would b much appreciated. thanks :)
