Is my cat dying, help?

she's had a really bad cold for a few weeks and her nose is really snotty, she had it a few months before and we got her some antibiotics they wrked for abut a week but then she got ill again, her breathing is loud and sounds strained, I dont know if it's because of her age (she's around 23 in human years) or she just needs more medication?
