Why do people make up questions apparently designed to hurt those answering them?

Some people just need to grow up and stop attention seeking. I dunno, i guess they think they're funny or something. There's always loads like that in the dog section for example, it just gets boring. But i see what you mean, if someone posts something where it sounds like they just want a rise out it, but they're being serious, or vice versa, well sometimes its difficult to tell. So they mostly just get abuse or upset people.
