Help! me + him are really shy!?

I moved to a new high school a few months ago. I'm friends with a boy in my year but when i see him we act really difficult with each other. Sometimes we're both so shy that we just wave and give each other cute smiles. At the moment i'm helping him to draw and we have a laugh together. When i p him in the corridor before school he stops talking to his brother and clmates, and just focuses all his attention to me. Do you think both really like each other or are just really shy and difficult?
