Do you prefer an autobiographical audiobook to be read by the author?

I listened to Frank McCourt's trilogy -- beautifully read by him. Better than my own internal voice when reading the text versions. But his brother had a book -- the audio version is read by a snobby sounding Brit. Totally unlistenable.
