Am i looking too much into this?

I'm in highschool and this grl at my school is sending me these mixed messages. I know that last year she liked me but when i figured that out she already had a new bf. At the start of this year she had dumped that bf and was available but another girl had already asked me to homecoming so i couldn't ask her then. She showed up with a guy from another school and has been dating him ever sense. Here's the confusing part. For english we had to right a short story and her's kind of matched up to the whole scenario. She used different names for people but kept the same first letters. She also wrote that the girl in the strory only went to the "movies" with another guy to get the first guy (me) jealous. We've talked a lot sence then and have gotten to know eathother pretty well. When i told her i had an aim sn she was quick to write it down and give me hers.This happened in April. We have talked a lot on aim and i think she is still giving me sinals yet on her acount it says she loves him.
